Prof. Dr. Türkmen Turan Çiftçi 1977 Silifke/MERSİN doğumludur. İlk ve orta öğrenimini sırasıyla Silifke Gazipaşa İlkokulu, Silifke Atatürk Ortaokulu, Mersin Fen Lisesi ve Silifke Lisesi’nde tamamlamıştır. 1994-2000 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde eğitim görerek hekimlik diplomasını almıştır. Radyoloji ihtisasını 2001-2006 yılları arasında, ağırlıklı olarak girişimsel radyoloji alanında olmak üzere Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde yapmıştır. İhtisas sonrası Aksaray Devlet Hastanesinde 2 yıl mecburi hizmet yapmış ve bu dönemde Aksaray valiliğinden yılın doktoru ödülü almıştır. 2009 yılında öğretim görevlisi olarak Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi girişimsel radyoloji bölümüne geri dönmüştür. Yurt dışı eğitimini 6 ay süre ile Fransa Bordeaux şehrinde kas iskelet sistemi tümörlerinde girişimsel radyoloji tedaviler alanında yapmıştır. 2014 yılında Doçent, 2021 yılında Profesörlük ünvanlarını almıştır. Prof. Dr. Türkmen Turan Çiftçi Girişimsel Onkoloji Derneği (https://www.girisimselonkolojidernegi.org/) ve Türk Girişimsel Radyoloji Derneği’nde ( https://www.tgrd.org.tr/) yönetim kurulu üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır. Akademik Sağlık Eğitimi Vakfı’nın ( https://www.akademiksaglikegitimivakfi.org/ ) kurucu mütevelli heyeti başkanıdır.

Akciğer, mediasten, karaciğer, dalak, böbrek, prostat, rahim, yumurtalık, periton, kemik, omurga, kas kanserlerinde görüntüleme eşliğinde biyopsi uygulamaları, ablasyon yöntemi ile akciğer, karaciğer ve böbrek kanserlerinin tedavileri, osteoid osteoma tedavisi, ağrı tedavisi, gastrointestinal sistem, biliyer sistem, üriner sistem ve solunum sistemi darlıklarında balon dilatasyonu ve stentlemeler, malign plevral efüzyon ve asit tedavisi başlıca çalışma alanlarıdır. Ayrıca Kist Hidatik hastalığı, Endometriozis, Epidermoid kistler, Lenfoseller, Kistik higroma, lenfanjiyomatozis, doğumsal boyun, dalak, böbrek, karaciğer ve karın kistleri Prof. Dr. Çiftçi’nin Hacettepe Üniversitesi’ne önemli akademik katkılar sağladığı ve çok sayıda hasta tedavi ettiği önemli konulardır.
